Vintage 2012 is an exceptional vintage in Champagne, offering some of the best bottlings for drinking today. Generally, the yields were low due to the challenges of frost, hail, and disease at the beginning of the seasons, which fortunately finished with a warm summer that fostered exemplary maturity, acidity and grape health at harvest.
Vintage 2008 is considered as a legendary vintage with moderate temperatures and gradual ripening. It shares the style of cool years like 1996 but with more fruit depth and less austerity. Many of the top ones are recognised as modern-day icons, the wines are with classic finesse, crystalline purity, tightly clenched acidity and monumental longevity – the essence of Champagne.
